I am trying to figure out if I should be annoyed or grateful that my best friend is deciding not to come to my birthday. On the one hand, she is my best friend and its my BIRTHDAY. On the other, my best friend ( who I do love) is and tends to be completely selfish and one sided. Right now she is in a "Woe is me" phase and my tolerance for BS is at an all time low. She has a job and her health so she should be happy. I am sure as far as she is concerned I am being a total bitch and I'm sure I sound like one but for the sake of her and my privacy I'm trying not to go into too much detail. Just trust me when I say I am the victim. I'm kidding, no one is ever really the victim in situations like this, right? Friendship squabbles are always complicated and messy and never truly solved. In fact it was my not solving issues that lead me to the point where I snapped and severed ties. Anywho I am hoping we make up and whatever but in the past I have always broken down and called her and this time I am refusing. I am putting my foot down. Which might leave me without a friend but hey, what can you do?
( And yes, I'm drunk)

The non-joys of being unemployed
Everyday I wake up at 10 and sit in bed and read for an hour. Then I get up, brush my teeth, get dressed and walk my dog. I come back, feed the dog and take a shower. Then I sit on the couch for 6 hours. This is not a vacation, this is my life. No, it's not fun.

99 Cent store bling

I just love these and everyone else does too. I had the chance to wear them to a party and kept having people ask me where I got them. They were so surprised when I said I made them AND they were from a 99 cent store. I might have to open an etsy store just to sell these. My only concern is that they are heavy.

I has a Pepper

I know it's gonna sound cheesy but every time something in my garden sprouts I feel like a proud mother. I just want to pat the plant on the head and say, "I'm proud of you baby." So far this summer I have gotten a bunch of basil and 4 beans off my bean plant but never have I been so proud as I was today when I went to the roof and discovered 3 baby Peppers. I almost cried. They are small but in a week or two they will be big and amazing. I have no idea what to make with Cayenne Peppers.

A Spaztastic Existence
It is 2:56 am and I cannot sleep. Dog, asleep on her pillow, Cats spooning next to me but no sleep for me. To say I am tired would be an understatement but my Adderall pumped brain will not stop running. I often imagine the scene inside my head consisting of a mouse running on wheel. He is wearing a red headband (because this is a comical mouse) and possibly track shorts. He is of corse running upright pumping his little firsts as he works that wheel like there is no tommrow. He is wearing Nikes. Or maybe they are Adidas, they have stripes. He is very tired and annoyed because if I could just fall asleep he could get off that wheel and relax. I feel bad. Poor mouse. 3:03 am, attempting to go to sleep agian.

7 Reasons Why I love the Avocado
From the top:
7) Jason Mraz- He owns an Avocado farm in Cali, I think that's awesome.
6) Easy- Avocados are so easy to prepare, they take less then 5 mins to turn into a tasty snack.
5) Nutrition- Avocados are a good source of almost everything. Vitamins C, E and B12 as well as Thiamin and Riboflavin. Now I'm not sure what those are but if they are good for me then I'm in with them being in my Avocados.
4) Soup- Avocado soup is the most amazing soup ever. Trust me.
3) The Texture- Its kinda waxing and slimy at the same time, I donno that just entertains me.
2) The color- I really believe we need to bring back Avocado colored kitchen electronics, we all miss them.
1) Guacamole- I don't think I need to explain myself here.
Check out Avocados for yourself and taste the magic. http://www.theamazingavocado.com/index.php

What I do to pass the time
I really love working with resin. I was really nervious at first thinking it would be alot harder then it really was. Now I find myself looking for things to use. I picked the stars up at a store and I couldnt remember which so I saved the tag and somehow it got thrown out. I panicked and decided to google "Tiny multi colored craft stars" thinking it was a very very long shot. This is why I love the internet, I found it on page 2. Everyone loves this peice so far and I admit it is my fav.
These two were done with party glitter. Its a champange bottle and glasses. I am really glad with how they turned out. I call them my party peices.
These are mini gummie bears. When resin is mixed it heats up and I think it starts to melt the gummie bears but I like the outcome none the less. I want to make more and create a bracelet.

Most likely the best paper I ever wrote (unedited)
One of my best friends insisted I post this. I wrote it a few years back for a media class.
The Oscars
By A.K.
Alright so here is the deal, it is 11 P.M. on Sunday night and I am tired. And the idea of writing an entire 5 pages about the Oscars which we both know are not worthy of 5 pages off my life is all that is keeping me from a much needed good nights sleep. But my mother insists that I do a great job on this paper and I could talk about movies till the cows come home, (What does that expression mean? What cows and where are they coming home from?) So I am going to attempt to do a great job on the paper but consider this a warning.
I didn’t enjoy watching the Academy awards this year as much as I have in past years. Basically what I have taken from this year is the truth that Television is really fake and everything is rigged. With that burned into my skull it was very hard to enjoy an award show, especially one where that fact was so evident. Though amazingly enough the rest of America didn’t seem to pick up on that. This years Oscars ratings rose 17% from last years ratings according to The New York Times. Taking all 11 of its nominations "The Lord of the Rings" was the main focus of the Oscars. This made the Oscars extremely predictable and boring. Though not nominated for Best actor or actress, it was nominated and won: Best adapted Screen play, Art direction, Original song, Best Original score, Best makeup, Costume Design, Sound, Visual effects, Film editing, And Best film. The title was mentioned so much a drinking game could have been made out of it, which makes me think I’ll keep the tape a little while longer. Oh and Sean Penn and Charlize Theron won best actor and actress.
The Oscars were shot on a 5 second delay to please the pubic and to insure no ones boob popped out, because you know how that always happens at the Academy awards. The host Billy Crystal, one of my favorites makes reference to the Super bowls with a line from his song about Surprise, The Lord of the Rings, saying "Then Golem popped out like the left boob of Janet." There were also jokes made about gay marriage that is until the winner for best animated Short film thanked his boyfriend.
This was Billy Crystals 3rd time hosting the awards. Among the presenters were some people who I honestly have no idea what they were doing there. People like, Ben Stiller and Jack Black. Will Smith and Wife were also presenters. Not bad actors but people that the academy at least in past years has chosen to ignore. Also very surprisingly Jim Carry presented, showing that he harbors no ill will towed the academy for ignoring him in the past.
There were some categories that "The Lord of the Rings" couldn't’t win. Renee Zellweger won best supporting actress, Tim Robbins for best supporting actor. "Finding Nemo" won best animated film. Sophia Coppola won for best adapted screen play.
As I write this I am watching the tape of the awards and my roommate just commented on the commercials. The commercials that aired during the awards for lack of a better word, sucked and I found this to be very refreshing. Commercials are a time to go to the bathroom and refill your drink so I was glad that there wasn’t so much stock put into them this year.
I think I have come to the end of my critique, I am very proud of my self for making it this far. When I started I thought I would only get about 3 pages. But here I am at 4 1/2. I don’t think I will be able to watch and award show after this and not feel like I am being suckered into it. Though since there are no more Lord of the Rings films maybe it will be more interesting next year. In closing, the awards were boring but Billy Crystal was good and what Ben Stiller was doing there, I still have no idea. So that’s my paper, I either failed miserably or did really well. I like to play it hit or miss.
